The Journey Begins
Published by winbraun
Hi, I’m Win. I’m a free thinker, travel enthusiast, adventure seeker and life optimiser. I grew up in the south of Germany, with a bedroom view of the beautiful Swiss Alps. I went to a Rudolf Steiner School, which taught me some pretty awesome life lessons - to appreciate the beauty of the little things in life, to question the big things - especially those, that aren’t usually questioned, to use my creativity creatively and my mind and body for the good and not for the bad. After school I worked for nine months in a psychiatric hospital, which gave me an insight into the human mind from a very specific angle, and also how society views it and deals with it. After that quite intense time, I started exploring the world and the countless opportunities it has to offer. I lived in Australia for one year, working in bars, restaurants and cafés, but also in goldmines and in the desert, searching for gold. I hiked 1200 kilometres through New Zealand, spent a few month in Indonesia, lived for half a year in Russia, where I worked as a German and English teacher, and travelled for three months through the USA. I lived and worked in Switzerland, studied political science and sociology in Berlin and Budapest, travelled in most European countries and only very recently spent three months exploring Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. After pondering some of the big questions in life: what makes life worthwhile? How can I live as good and as happy as possible? I embarked in the more recent past on a spiritual journey. This journey is as exciting and inspiring as it is to travel through the lush and beautiful nature of this planet. Through all my travels I realised, that everybody can teach me SOMETHING - perhaps not consciously or deliberately - but in one way or another, no matter whom I encounter - they certainly have a lesson to teach me. Most of the lessons I learn through encountering other people, are just for me and wouldn’t be helpful for others. Some of the more practical tips, strategies and life hacks though, are applicable and potentially helpful for most of us. I realised, that I shouldn’t keep the greatest ideas and hacks that people share with me to myself - after all, sharing is caring. I decided to write a blog about my favourite tips, tricks and life hacks. Whenever I meet a free thinking person, I ask them for their favourite life hack. This way, I hope to accumulate some kick-ass life hacks that I can share with you. View all posts by winbraun
